A Lot Like Christmas (2019)
So many micro-budget Christmas films are also micro-inspired. No amount of money is going to help improve them. Heck, that’s what the whole Hallmark holiday romance genre has become, slightly higher budget with micro-effort.
A Lot Like Christmas looks like it probably could have been a decent film with a bit more resources and a bit more professionalism on display. Because it’s not a good movie and thanks to length and pacing issues it wears out its welcome eventually. That said, for a while, its a lot more watchable than loads of higher budget offerings.
It’s also a family drama with only minimal Christmas content and a few politically incorrect comedy bits.

Does it look like Christmas? Just barely
Does it sound like Christmas? There are occasional nods to the season but overall no.
Does it feel like Christmas? No.
Did I finish it? Had to bail about ¾ through.

What a melodramatic train wreck. Life and a cheating husband put poor Linda Hamilton through the wringer. It’s hard to watch both because you feel bad for Hamilton’s character and because its a crummy movie.
Is it Hallmark? Lifetime but, I watched it on Tubi.
Does it look like Christmas? I gave up halfway through, not much to that point.

Did it make me cry? It was trying it darnedest but no.

A Christmas Carol (2018)
One of the most underwhelming adaptions / updates of Dickens' classic. Nothing much to recommend it.
